Motorcycle
Assessments
Lancashire County Council's Road Safety Group has over 30 years experience of
delivering training and advice to all levels of riders from the absolute novice
on a moped or motorcycle through to the more experienced rider on larger
capacity machines.
A free motorcycle assessment is offered to motorcyclists who
wish to take advantage of a professional riding instructor's assessment of their
riding skills, road awareness and hazard perception.
Target market
The Road
Safety Group currently provides free assessment rides for all types of riders
who either live in or travel through Lancashire.
Aim of Rider Assessment
To
provide a platform of assessment in order to conduct a gap analysis on riders’
abilities and recommend where necessary training measures to close those gaps.
How it’s done…
Assess the rider on-road over a period of not less than 1 hour •
Use the assessment to highlight the rider’s weak areas and needs If necessary,
to recommend a suitable training course to help address those needs
Funding
This
project is funded by Local Area Agreement and is available to all motorcyclists
in Lancashire (resident or riding through). Mike Williams is an LCC approved
assessor. The assessment consists of a ride out, usually for a period of 1-2
hours. At the end you’ll be given an assessment report, and Mike will discuss
any next steps you wish to take.
The assessment is free.
